The Belgian striker is set to become Manchester United's go-to guy after the Swedish striker's departure from the team this summer.

Getting advice from your predecessor might be a bit awkward, but new Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku didn't hesitate when asking Zlatan Ibrahimovic for some pointers.

The Belgian striker revealed to ESPN details about a conversation with the Swedish ace before his move to Old Trafford was confirmed, and even thanked him for his blessing when he decided to wear Number 9.

"I used to wear No.10 to honor the month in which my mom was born (October), but strikers usually wear Number 9. It's a great number and I asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic's permission to wear it. I'd like to thank him for letting me have it," Lukaku stated.

The former Everton player praised Zlatan's season at Man United, where he quickly became a reference for fans around the world. The Swedish striker even gave Lukaku an inside look at his new club, providing tips on how to succeed at Old Trafford.

"He did an excellent job here. He was the best player of the team last season, and I have to say I have nothing but respect for him, I really admire his job. I've learnt a lot from him, especially because we have the same agent. He's given me some advice and he's helped me to become a better player," Lukaku added.
