Chelsea search for a new main striker surges on. After seeing their Romelu Lukaku move hijacked by Man United, the Blues must return to the transfer window to find an ideal replacement for Diego Costa.
The Spaniard appears destined to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. After falling out with manager Antonio Conte once more, he now has his heart set on an Atletico Madrid return.
Morata and Belotti are possible targets for the Blues, but Tuesday sees the Premier League giants linked with another hot-shot striker. That man is none other than Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, the Bundesliga outfit have offered the speedy Gabonese goalscorer to the Blues – for a hefty £70m price tag.
Conte is a known admirer of Morata, but Chelsea have made little progress in their attempts to lure the Spaniard to London. As a result, the Italian is looking at alternatives.
Aubameyang, linked with a move to China, could be tempted to join one of Europe’s most exciting leagues. The 28-year-old, last season’s Bundesliga top-scorer with 31 goals, is also on PSG’s radar.
"Now to another striker who is in demand," Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.
“We are hearing this morning that Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
"He was the top scorer in Germany last season.
"He can leave Dortmund this summer for £70million."
Marca go even further by claiming Chelsea have opened talks for Aubameyang. Although not Conte’s preferred target, the Dortmund striker would definitely be a quality acquisition.
