Match facts

  • This will be the 58th match in all competitions between these National Teams. Costa Rica has won 20 of those, with Honduras taking the win home 19 times

  • Honduras gets to this game with a four-match streak without a loss against Los Ticos (two wins, two draws)

  • Four out of the last six meetings between these teams have ended with a 1-0 scoreline. Each team has taken the win home two times in that timeframe.

Team news

Los Catrachos and Los Ticos are still searching for the first Gold Cup title, and with Mexico and the USMNT bringing "B" squads to the tournament, this could be their best chance to do so.

Jorge Luis Pinto's men will also try to use this competition to find their form back, as they have struggled to win games under the successful boss. A good performance in this tournament could come in handy for them, as their presence in the 2018 World Cup is in serious jeopardy, and they would certainly use an ego boost for the final part of the qualifying process.

On the other side, Los gets to this tournament with a major absence, as Keylor Navas wasn't included in the 40-man roster provided by the Costa Rican Federation. Joel Campbell and Bryan Ruiz, who could get to his 100th cap with Los Ticos, will be the go-to guys for Oscar Ramirez's men.
