Former striker Ivan Zamorano shared his unflattering views about the team's chances of giving Sánchez the chance to become a global icon.

If Alexis Sánchez wants to win major trophies, he needs to leave Arsenal. At least that's what La Roja legend Ivan Zamorano thinks, according to an interview he gave after Chile's 1-0 loss to Germany in the 2017 Confederations Cup final.

According to "Bam Bam", who was once Chile's all-time top scorer, La Roja's No. 7 needs to bid farewell to the London-based club if he truly wants to experience the glory of winning major titles at a club level.

He's a guy who has goals and ambitions, they're fundamental to making a choice. I think he likes to win. What he wants, above all, is to win the Champions League, and I don't think he'll have that possibility at Arsenal," Zamorano stated in an interview.

The former striker won league titles with Real Madrid and Mexico's Club América, along with a UEFA Cup with Inter Milan and a Bronze Medal with La Roja in the 2000 Olympic Games.

Zamorano carried on and took a slight dig at the Gunners, a team he doesn't consider to be top-notch.

"He must know that he will be more useful in a bigger team. But it's his decision, his personal choice. Whatever happens, Alexis will be at the level he deserves to be and which he must achieve,” Zamorano added.

Sánchez has been linked with a move away from the Gunners for quite some time, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich reportedly leading the race to sign him.
