Barcelona's new coach Ernesto Valverde knows his new team needs an uprgrade to fight toe-to-toe with Real Madrid, and having a dependable center back around is a priority. With that in mind, Barcelona's execs have turned their eyees once again to the Serie A, with Leonardo Bonucci being the primary transfer target.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Barcelona have begun negotiations to lure the Italian international to La Liga, although Juventus are still keen on having the player around.
The 30-year old defender, still under contract with Juventus, is also being tempted by Real Madrid and Chelsea, where he would re-unite with former coach Antonio Conte.
This would be Bonucci's first experience away from the Italian top flight, as he's played previously for Inter, Treviso, Pisa and Bari, before joining La Vecchia Signora in 2010.
