Lionel Messi is set to finally marry Antonella Roccuzzo – his long-term partner and the mother of his two kids. The duo will tie the knot in his home town of Rosario, with several high-profiled named being invited to the ceremony.
260 guests are expected to attend Leo’s wedding, with the list being dominated by Barcelona players of past and present. Team-mates Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Pique will be joined by the likes of Xavi, Samuel Eto’o, and Carles Puyol.
Former team-mate Cesc Fabregas made the trip to Argentina, alongside with countryman Angel Di Maria. The PSG ace, however, is the only player with links to Real Madrid to be given a ticket.

This means fellow Argentine Gonzalo Higuain was not invited – Aguero, Di Maria, Lavezzi, and Mascherano are Leo’s only national team buddies to attend. According to La Nacion, the reserved La Pulga wants only his closest friends on hand.
Thus, it was expected that no Real Madrid players would be invited. The likes of Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique, and Diego Maradona were also snubbed despite their relationship with the 30-year-old legend.
Pep is credited with being the manager who helped propel Messi to the top of world football, but will not be present for Leo’s special day. As for the Barca coaching staff who were also not invited, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly promised to do something with them on his return to Catalonia.
Andres Iniesta will also not be attending. The Spanish playmaker is a close friend of the groom and was thus given a ticket, but the midfielder could not make it due to the recent birth of his third child.
