Despite signing a contract extension back in January, one of Die Roten's most popular players could walk away after next season.

The 2017-18 season hasn't started, and Arjen Robben has dropped a huge hint about his future.

The flamboyant wingman, who turned 33 back in January, could join Phillip Lahm and Xabi Alonso as one of Bayern's stars to call it quits by the end of the upcoming season. The Dutch ace admitted that the time to hang his boots is coming, and leaving football in the summer of 2018 is a possibility.

"I'm pretty relaxed. I'm not thinking about what could come after the end of next season. I just want to live thinking about what happens here and now. Honestly, the end of my playing days is coming. It's getting closer and closer, and I'm thinking about what will happen next," Robben told Kicker in an interview.

Even if he chooses not to retire after next season, Robben shared what he would do once he bids farewell to football.

"First off, I want to spend six months without doing anything. The only certainty I have about my future is that I'll return to my country, and maybe work for Groningen. I still have close ties to my childhood club, and I think I could do well there," Robben added.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea player has performed 89 times for his National Team, scoring 31 goals in the process.
