The Colombian is ready to quit Real Madrid after falling down the pecking order under Zidane.

Unlike Isco, James Rodriguez has not made a breakthrough in Zidane’s starting eleven. His continuing struggle for playing time will likely see the Colombian leave Real Madrid this summer, with one outlet claiming to know that exact date.

They are Radio Caracol, claiming that a move will only be announced on May 21 once Los Blancos have completed their Spanish Primera Division campaign. Zidane’s men will still have the Champions League final on June 3 to play, but the Colombian will have agreed to a Premier League switch by then.

Manchester United will be his likely destination. Several Premier League clubs were after the 25-year-old, but Mourinho has won the race with a little help from having the same agent – Jorge Mendes – as the player.

According to Marca, Chelsea made a last-ditch attempt to hijack the Red Devils move. That move failed, however, as the player turned down a Stamford Bridge switch despite the promise of Champions League football – Mourinho’s men are yet to qualify.

This move, if true, will end the player’s three-year spell at Santiago Bernabeu. After arriving in Spain for £63m with much hype after his stellar 2014 World Cup campaign, the Colombian failed to master consistency.

After also failing to win over Zidane, Rodriguez appeared to say goodbye to the fans in the recent win over Sevilla. The South American ace applauded every single corner as he was taken off the pitch.
