The Mexican striker has been tempted by MLS execs with a hefty offer, while Jose Mourinho has also stated he'd like to have the player returning to Old Trafford.

With offers coming from the MLS and even former club Manchester United, the future of Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernández is set to be sorted out in the upcoming days.

Speaking to TV channel Fox Sports, Bayer Leverkusen's Sports director Jonas Boldt admitted the possibility of having to let the Mexican ace leave, despite being the team's best striker in what turned out to be a disappointing season, which saw The Aspirins change coaches in February and fighting to avoid relegation in the most recent weeks.

"It's always good to have him around, even in a year as disappointing as this one, he managed to score ten goals to lead the team in that department, and given that he's still very well-known, we'll sit down with him and chat about his options for the near future," Boldt stated.

Hernández, per Boldt's words, still has one year left in his contract, and the German side will try to extend their deal with the Mexican, although they have good reason to believe he'll search for other employment opportunities.

"Everything is possible. We can extend our current deal, and we know he's happy here. But we have to deal with the fact that the team will not play European footballl next season, and maybe that's a deal breaker for him. We hope that we can keep working with him for a long time,"Bayer Leverkusen's exec concluded.
