Nacho's goal, Neymar's antics for Barcelona, the battle to win the title and other stats stole the show during this weekend's matches.

Matchday 37 set up the stage for the final showdown between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the title race. Even if it was difficult for some to keep track of all the games, especially due to the fact that seven of them were played at the same time, there were some interesting facts involving both contenders to win the league and other sides that haven't been as lucky.

Neymar scores Barcelona's second La Liga hat-trick this season

As surprising as it may seem, the team with the best striker's unit in La Liga had only recorded one hat-trick this season, courtesy of Luis Suárez. On Sunday, Neymar scored the second hat-trick of the season for Barcelona, while also fulfilling a personal assignment.

Cristiano Ronaldo matches 46-year old record

The Portuguese ace had a weekend to remember, scoring a brace for Real Madrid and surpassing the 400-goal barrier for Los Blancos in all competitions. If that wasn't enough, the current Ballon D'Or holder matched Jimmy Greaves goal scoring tally in domestic competitions.

Relegation battle sorted out earlier than the title race

With 20 teams starting each La Liga season, the chances of being relegated can be determined by a slump, problems on and off the pitch, or quite simply, because players on those teams can't live up to the expectations. Sporting, Osasuna and Granada will be relegated when the season comes to an end, with two of those teams knowing their destiny four weeks in advance.

Although Sporting could still match Deportivo's point tally, the tiebreaker between these teams gives the blue and white side the edge over Los Rojiblancos.

Granada's woeful defense sets record for all the wrong reasons

With three coaches in the course of the season, it's no wonder why Granada failed to keep themselves among Spain's finest. One of them, Spaniard Paco Jémez, was responsible for putting together the worst defensive line in history, causing Mexican goalie Guillermo Ochoa to earn a spot in La Liga's record books with a milestone he won't brag about.

Nacho's cheeky free kick: legal or against Fair Play rules?

One of Real Madrid's unsung heroes this season has been, without a doubt, backup defender Nacho. Playing in all defensive spots available, the utility defender has been crucial for Zidane & Co. A true example both on and off the pitch, the Spanish player scored a crucial goal for Real Madrid against Sevilla, but some fans -mostly from Catalunya- complained about his decision to overlook Fair Play standards. Was he right or wrong? His team surely appreciated his quick thinking!

Nacho scores the opening goal for Real Madrid. The referee allowed the game to conntinue, while Sevilla's footballers were left dumb-founded.
