Manchester United’s Nani Rates Chelsea Above Arsenal And Nasri As A Top Star

December 9, 2010 By Angela Asante
Manchester United could top the English Premier League standings come Monday with victory over Arsenal. However, star winger Nani is aware that the Red Devils’ task against the Gunners will be huge.

Manchester United's Nani looks forward to the Arsenal match. The Portuguese play maker who is influential for Man United this season is looking forward to helping his side overcome Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday. Earlier on at the Theatre of Dreams, Liverpool lost to the ex-English champions who now want to make of the Gunners their next victims.

While some analysts have tipped December’s Chelsea vs Manchester United Premier League match to be an early title decider, Nani believes that Arsene Wenger’s team are more dangerous than the Blues. In fact, considering their emphatic victories, Chelsea certainly deserved to be regarded as the team to beat in the early stages of the English Premier League season.

But the month of November has seen the Blues go through a torrid period and their recent defeat to Olympique Marseille in the Champions League reveals that they storm is not over yet. On the contrary, Arsenal have been building momentum and their recent victories against Fulham in the English Premier League and Partizan in the Champions League will boost their confidence ahead of Monday’s match. Speaking to the media in the build up to the Manchester United vs Arsenal match, Nani revealed:

“Arsenal pose a bigger threat than Chelsea now. Chelsea have lost a few games, and they’ve drawn some, and now their confidence looks a bit low.

“But Arsenal have been winning and being top of the lead gives you great confidence. Arsenal have been doing well. They are growing up in the way we are.”

There’s one man that seems to be at the centre of the Gunners’ success this season, and it is Samir Nasri. The French international of Algerian origins has been displaying excellent performances for his club recently and Nani is wary of him.

“[Samir] Nasri is the most important player in the Arsenal team,” Nani admitted before concluding on this matter:

“He is a very big danger for us. We have to take care of him.”

Manchester United are behind Arsenal in the English Premier League but they have a game in hand and their upcoming fixtures in the league offers them a great advantage as Nani explained:

“It’s great, because our next two matches are going to be very important for us. If we win against Arsenal and Chelsea, we’ll be in a very good position to win the league.”
