Bayern are held to scoreless draw, whilst Dortmund rebound from Klassiker loss. LiveSoccerTV.com casts an eye over all the happenings across Germany from this past weekend.

Another weekend, another round of Bundesliga action is in the books. As things stand, Bayern have effectively decided the title race, although upstarts RB Leipzig want to stay involved for as long as possible. Carlo Ancelotti's side, did not rebound the way fans had wanted after their first leg Champions League loss to Real Madrid, and supporters will hope to see die Roten roar back to winning ways this week.

Dortmund, however, got back into the swing of things after their Klassiker humiliation. Die Schwarzgelben also have some work to do in European action to overturn a 3-2 loss to Monaco. And Schalke, who lost 2-0 to Ajax in the Europa League, wrapped up an awful week by shockingly losing 2-1 to relegation candidates Darmstadt. Let's have a look at some of what went down across Germany during this round.

1. Young and rash

Ever heard of Bayer Leverkusen's Tin Jedvaj?

Well, you certainly will. The young Croatian international now has written himself into the Bundesliga history books, but not exactly for the right reasons:

2. The all-conquering Super Mario

Since returning to his native Germany, Mario Gomez has been playing some of his best football. The veteran striker has netted 14 goals, which is just under 50 per cent of Wolfsburg's total and scored the third for this side to see off Ingolstadt this past weekend.

In doing so, he has completed an interesting personal achievement:

3. Too little, too late for Darmstadt?

15. That's the number of points Darmstadt had earned prior to meeting Schalke this past weekend. They now have 18 after beating their opponents, but are a whopping 10 points from safety after failing to win a match since beating Mainz 1-0 in March.

By scoring against Schalke, Darmstadt reached a small milestone:

but it seems to be too little, too late for Darmstadt.

4. Win, lose, or draw: One thing is certain, Dortmund always score

Pretty much. They lost to Bayern in der Klassiker, but still netted a consolation goal. And die Schwarzgelben are not surprisingly among the higher scoring sides in the Bundesliga, with only Bayern's 71 being more than their output of 62 so far this term:

5. Hoping to avoid an unwanted precedent

This doesn't pertain to last weekend's action per se, but it does concern Bundesliga sides. Currently, all three of Germany's representatives - Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke - are all facing an uphill battle in both the Champions League and the Europa League.

Why? All three lost the first leg of their respective European ties. Bayern were unfortunately edged out 2-1 by Real Madrid. Borussia Dortmund ended up on the wrong end of a 3-2 score-line against Monaco (albeit it was an entertaining match). And Schalke were no match for Ajax, as they failed to find an answer as they lost 2-0.

It goes without saying that everyone will be hoping they can overturn their respective deficits:

How the battle for the Torjägerkanone is shaping up

Dortmund ace Aubameyang re-claims top spot in the race for the Torjägerkanone, but he will have to do more if he wants to pull away from the chasing pack. Meanwhile, Koln's Anthony Modeste is determined to stay in the race for as long as possible:
