Real Madrid continue to have a two-point lead over Barcelona, just hours away from playing what could be a crucial mid-week game.

Real Madrid had a five-point gap over Barcelona at the top of La Liga, but Los Blaugranas made their chances count against a weak Granada side, forcing Los Blancos to keep their pace if they want to win the title.

With both Spanish giants playing on Sunday, Saturday's highlights came courtesy of Atlético Madrid, who levelled Sevilla's tally of 58 points and thumped them out of third place. Atlético is now ten points behind Real Madrid, but any slip ups by the two leading parties might be the chance Los Colchoneros need to bounce back.

Here's how the top of La Liga looks like after 29 games.

There were some interesting records set by many La Liga players this weekend, and none of them were courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, proving that there's enough talent to throw around in the Spanish top flight. Pichichi race

Lionel Messi's absence saw Luis Suárez close the gap in the top scorers' table. Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score against Alavés, failing to take advantage of the Argentine's absence.

Assists

Toni Kroos ceased to be the best passer in La Liga, as Neymar and Luis Suárez joined the German at the top of the assists chart.
