The shot-stopper, who recently celebrated his 31st birthday, could make it back in time to play against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Quarter finals.

Bayern Munich's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer provided a scare for his team's supporters, as he had to undergo minor surgery to correct a foot injury he picked up during Bayern's training session.

Neuer had experienced some calf problems prior to the International Break, forcing Die Mannschaft to leave him out of the roster that faced England and Azerbaijan.

The Bavarian side revealed Neuer's injury on social media.

Neuer will miss Bayern's games against Augsburg and Hoffenheim. Nevertheless, the team's medical staff believes the player will be around to face Real Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League matchup.

While most fans want Neuer around for that clash, a member of Die Mannschaft "suggested" the shot-stopper to take it easy. German midfielder Toni Kroos, a good friend of Neuer's, wished him a speedy recovery...but he admitted that he wouldn't mind it if his friend "wishes" to keep calm while doing so.

"Get well soon! But take your time..."
