38,045 fans attended the Sounders vs Necaxa clash at the Century Link Field on Saturday.

There is something special about Seattle Sounders and their fans. The loyalty between the two entities is incomparable.

And despite the fact that the MLS Cup defending champions were without some of their key players such as the likes of Clint Dempsey, Jordan Morris, Roman Torres and Joevin Jones for this international friendly, the attendance was near full-house. You would expect a majority of fans to sit back and save their voices for Sounder's next MLS fixture against Atlanta United at home, but that did not happen.

Thousands of fans carrying all sorts of paraphernalia bearing the famous green and navy-blue colors of the club chanted ''Ole, ole, we are the Sounders ole'' throughout the evening clash at the 67,000 seater-facility in Washington. And one particular factor that could not be ignored was the presence of a huge number of fans of the Mexican outfit donning red and white regalia to represent the Liga MX club. The political tension between the two countries, however, did not come to play in the stands as the fans freely mingled with each other and rallied behind their beloved clubs. Well, it was just another evening of beautiful soccer and most importantly, it was game that once again showed how soccer unifies the world regardless of race, religion or political affiliation.
