Major League Soccer outfit Chicago Fire are on the verge of signing Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to several reports from England. Bastian has made just four appearances for the Red Devils this season under Jose Mourinho, and does not appear to be in the manager's plans for the future.

Under LVG, the legendary player made 31 appearances in all competitions and scored one goal. He would have made more appearances but his season was characterized by injuries. But under the new manager, Bastian has only played four times and scored one goal.
Although he still has a year in his contract at Old Trafford, it is understood that he has been allowed to leave for the MLS, and Chicago Fire are reportedly leading the race to sign him for a deal worth £90,000 a week. He currently earns £140,000 a week at Manchester United and the Premier League giants could avoid making losses by finalizing the switch to the Stateside club.
