The Mexican striker surprised fans by posting a video on his Instagram account sporting a completely shaved head. Why did he choose to do so?

Before eveyone went to sleep yesterday, Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernández surprised his fans by appearing on his Twitter feed with no hair on his head. While some media outlets stated that his new look had something to do with his recent breakup, the truth was far from being related to the end of his relationship.

Before Super Bowl LI, Hernández believed that the Atlanta Falcons would win NFL's biggest game. A Mexican journalist named Sergio Dipp got a hold of this fact and decided to challenge "Chicharito's" football knowledge while putting a bet on the table: if Atlanta lost the game, the Mexican ace would shave his head.

It's been more than a month since New England recorded the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, and Chicharito decided it was time to pay.

Here's "Chicharito", moments after shaving his head, showing he had paid his debt. We've also added a transcript in case your Spanish isn't that good.

"My brother! Here I am, a true tapatío gentleman living up to his word, paying my debt. As you said, Tom Brady is the best in NFL history. I trusted the Atlanta Falcons to win but, I was out of luck. Let me say hello to all the folks watching this, lots of blessings for all of you and that's it...good bye!"

Hernández will try to lead Bayer Leverkusen to a shocking win against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday. Die Werkself lost 4-2 in the first leg, meaning that they need three goals to make it to the UEFA Champions League Quarter finals.
