Defender Pablo Aguilar and midfielder Enrique Triverio were involved in a couple of incidents during last week's Copa MX action.

Liga MX fans were shocked on Friday, as the tournament's referees decided to go on strike. Their demands were quite simple: harsh punishment for Enrique Triverio and Pablo Aguilar, who assaulted a couple of refs during last week's Copa MX games.

Aguilar had been handed a ten-match ban after trying to head-butt referee Fernando Hernández, while Enrique Triverio shoved ref Miguel Angel Flores. Triverio was initially suspended eight games, but the Mexican officers demanded them to be banned from the pitch longer. In reply, the Mexican Football Federation handed both players one-year bans from all competitions, including games with their National Teams.

Liga MX's press release states that both players will also have to pay a fine for their actions.
