The Swedish striker decided not to appeal his ban after throwing an elbow against Bournemouth's Tyrone Mings.

Whatever chances Manchester United had of beating Chelsea in their FA Cup clash next Monday have been handed a massive blow, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss this match for his row against Tyrone Mings.

The Swedish striker has been handed a three-match ban after hitting the center back with his elbow, moments after Mings stamped Ibra's head.

Aside from missing the crucial FA Cup tie against Chelsea, Ibrahimovic will also miss the games against Middlesbrough and West Brom.

Zlatan hit Mings' head with his right elbow before halftime.

Tyrone Mings is also facing a ban, following the FA's "violent conduct" ruling. Nevertheless, his punishment could be a bit more harsh, according to the FA's press release.

"The FA has submitted a claim that the standard punishment that would otherwise apply for the misconduct committed by the Bournemouth defender is 'clearly insufficient'," the document states.

Mings could face a five-match ban due to his behaviour against Manchester United.

The 23-year old defender and Bournemouth will appeal the FA's ruling, hoping to have his ptential ban reduce.
