The Gunners have received a glimmer of hope in their nearly impossible task of overturning the 5-1 deficit.

Things could go from bad to worse for Arsenal’s confidence, as the Gunners appear destined for a European home defeat just days after losing 3-1 to Liverpool. Arsene Wenger’s boys, fighting for their lives to qualify for next season’s Champions League, will face Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

They will face off at the Emirates in the return fixture of their two-legged round of 16 matchup. The game is all but out of the Gunners’ hand, as they have a nearly-impossible 5-1 deficit to overcome.

The north London outfit have received a huge boost. Although they continue to struggle with form, one Bayern Munich superstar will not be available to torment Arsenal.

According to Sport1, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will travel to London without superstar goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The German custodian was present in the Bundesliga leaders’ last game – a 3-0 win over Cologne – but picked up an injury which will keep him out of Tuesday’s squad.

The Sweeper Keeper has a calf muscle hardening issue, one which forced him to train alone at the Bavarians’ training ground. Sven Ulreich will likely deputize for the World Cup winner.

Breaching Bayern’s goal will be easier without Neuer, but the German’s attack will remain as troublesome to stop as before.
