Here are the three most trending topics in MLS to watch out for the rest of the 2017 season.

The return of the Major League Soccer has been one of the most trending topics in the US and Canada today. Finally, after three months of waiting, football fans majorly in the USA and Canada, and across the world can look up to the new season of exciting afternoons of soccer. And as the league kicks off later today, here are three topics to keep an eye on for the rest of the season.

Youngsters taking over the business

Gone are the days when only star signings such as the likes of Frank Lampard, Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard would steal the transfer show for the entire transfer season. This season has demonstrated that the future of transfers will mostly be dominated by youngsters. We've seen younger talents being signed and creating a buzz all over social media in the past few weeks.Atlanta lead in youth signings - they acquired Almiron, Villalba and Martinez. Then the bandwagon spread to Dallas thanks to the arrival of exciting starlet Cristian Colman, who scored a beautiful goal on his debut against Arabe Unido in the CONCACAF Champions League last month. Other notable young signing to watch include Albert Rusnak of Real Salt Lake, Gerso Fernandes of Sporting KC and Yordy Reyna of Vancouver Whitecaps.

The new Uniteds - what do they have to offer?

Atlanta and Minnesota United are the new teams to watch thanks to the league's expansion. And to prove this, Atlanta have already sold more than 30,000 season tickets and spent huge on transfers. Minnesota, on the other hand, have not spent much on transfers but instead, they have retained most of their players as they aim at making their presence known in the league with a bang.

The return of Clint Dempsey

This is one of the best news regarding the 22nd edition of the MLS. Dempsey, a former Tottenham Hotspur man, missed the better part of the 2016 season due to a heart problem. The legendary player has now been cleared to play for Sounders this season and all eyes will be on his to see if he still got his goals-scoring boots with him. You simply cannot hate this guy!

And so, as the cameras start rolling, as the fans start weaving their ways back into the stadiums to welcome the next MLS season, these four topics will dominate the headlines for the entire season. Who knows? We could have some records broken and history rewritten by some of these players to watch.
