The Mexican ace went on to lead Bayer Leverkusen to a couple of wins against Eintracht and Augsburg, reaching ten goals in the Bundesliga top scorer race and keeping his team's hopes of European football for next season alive.
"Chicharito" faced some stiff competition to win this award, as he beat Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a close race.

This is the second month this season in which "Chicharito" collects the Player of the Month award, following his stunning form in September which saw him score his first hat-trick with Die Werkself. Since he joined Bayer Leverkusen last season, the Mexican ace has won this award five times.
