Radja Nainggolan stars for Roma against Inter, whilst Napoli suffer a shock loss and AC Milan deal with bogey side Sassuolo. LiveSoccerTV.com takes a look at the happenings across Italy from this weekend.

Matchday 26 will conclude once Fiorentina take on Torino later today. However, there are still plenty of talking points from last weekend's action. There were some surprise losses and indeed, Napoli will be very wary of the chasing pack, whilst Juventus continue to cruise along and Roma try to play catch-up for as long as possible.

Let's have a look at what took place across Italy this weekend.

1. Radja Nainggolan strikes again

The Inter-Roma tie was billed as a must see clash for calcio fans worldwide, and it certainly did not disappoint. The Nerazzurri were coming into that match with a very strong home record. Plus, they have won 71 games against Roma, which is more than against any other side in Serie A. Meanwhile, Roma's away record was not the best, as they have lost five out of their last 13 and that included a defeat recently to Sampdoria.

So, it goes without saying that Inter fans were really fancying their chances, despite Roma's very strong attack. Well, the Lupi had other ideas, and by the time the dust settled, were heading back to the Eternal City with all three points in hand.

The protagonist in the match? Not Edin Dzeko, who is in contention for the Capocannoniere. But rather, Radja Nainggolan. The Belgian really likes playing against Inter, as he has scored five goals against the Nerazzurri. That makes them his favorite foe in Serie A.

And not only did he score a brace, he did so in spectacular fashion. Both goals were from outside the box - which makes him the first Roma player since Francesco Totti (who else?) did this in December 2005 against Chievo.

...and yes, he did it again in the second half, too:

2. Atalanta making a case for the defense

Despite their impressive campaign this season, Atalanta were still viewed as the underdogs in taking on Napoli. After all, the Partenopei had lost just one out of their last 12 meetings with La Dea across all competitions.

However, Atalanta continues to prove that opponents should not underestimate Gian Piero Gasperini's side. Impressively, both goals came from defender Mattia Caldara, who will be playing for Juventus next term, and based on this stat, the Bianconeri really are getting a valuable asset:

3. Fiorentina's epic collapse

This didn't take place in Serie A, but it's important as it could affect the Viola's state of mind ahead of their fixture with Torino. Heading into the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie with Borussia M'gladbach, Fiorentina had a slight advantage thanks to an away goal. They even managed to go 2-0 up in the first 30.

Game over, right? Wrong. In 16 minutes, Fiorentina's European dreams were up in flames, whilst setting a very unwanted record:

4. Can anyone stop Juventus? Doesn't seem like it...

If a team wants to beat the Bianconeri, they will have to do it on their home turf. Forget about it on the road. Juventus were not at their best against Empoli, but they still managed to get the job done as they continue their march for a sixth straight Scudetto:

5. A milestone for the Flying Donkeys & Milan finally get the better of Sassuolo

Meanwhile, Chievo earned their 100th Serie A win, in a 2-0 win over Pescara. Guess the Delfini were brought crashing back down to earth after their shock 5-0 win against Genoa last round!

And Milan finally managed to deal with bogey side Sassuolo. The Neroverdi have been a thorn in the Diavolo's side since arriving in Serie A back in 2013. Carlos Bacca's penalty was enough to give the Rossoneri their first win at Sassuolo's home ground.

How the race for the Capocannoniere is shaping up...

Not much changes at the top. Last round, Edin Dzeko and Gonzalo Higuain were on 19 goals, and neither marksman found the back of the net this past weekend. Mauro Icardi moved up to 16 after his consolation goal for the Nerazzurri. Palermo's Ilija Nestorovski now has ten goals, or nearly 50 per cent of the Rosanero's 22. They obviously don't score often, and that is why they are set for a return to Serie B, but when Palermo do score a consolation goal, it's due to the efforts of the Macedonian international.
