What was supposed to be a regular pre-match press conference ahead of a title-deciding match turned to be an homage to one of Mourinho's "friends".
Speaking after Manchester United's training session, Jose Mourinho offered perhaps the most touching press conference of his career, as he paid tribute to Claudio Ranieri, who was sacked yesterday by Leicester City months after leading the Foxes to their first-ever EPL title.
Using a shirt with the initials "CR" printed on it, Mourinho voiced his thoughts on Ranieri's dismissal, and even suggested Leicester City to change the stadium's name to offer a proper tribute to the Italian manager.
Mourinho is no stranger to being sacked after winning a trophy, since Chelsea parted ways with him back in December of 2015 following a really slow start. According to the Portuguese boss, Ranieri's sacking was even more surprising than his own.
Manchester United will play against Southampton in the League Cup final on Sunday, where Mourinho will try to win his second trophy as the Red Devils' boss.
