The Mexican striker needs three more goals to become Mexico's all-time top scorer in the competition. He would surpass Real Madrid legend Hugo Sánchez if he manages to do so.

Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernández keeps making history, much to the joy of his compatriots and former team-mates.

Today, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid player reached a milestone he would have never dreamed about, as he became the Mexican footballer with the most UEFA Champions League games played in history.

Hernández surpassed former Barcelona ace Rafa Márquez, who played 46 matches with Monaco and Barcelona before returning to his home country. Hernández has played UCL games with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.

Unfortunately for the striker, he couldn't celebrate with a win, as Bayer Leverkusen lost 4-2 against Atlético, putting their chances of making it to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals in serious jeopardy.
