The Spanish defender got injured after a seemingly fair but hard challenge by Theo Hernández as time ran out between Barcelona and Alavés.

Just when his career at Barcelona seemed to be getting a major boost, Aleix Vidal has been brought back to earth by a horrific ankle injury.

With the game already 6-0 for Los Blaugranas, tragedy struck the former Sevilla defender, as he was badly hurt after a challenge by Theo Hernández, who caught the ball but also clipped Vidal's ankle against the turf. The game's referee didn't even call a foul on the play, and the game was supposed to carry on until Vidal started asking for help.

Hernández had already touched the ball when Vidal's injury happened.

Immediately after the fall, Vidal asked for the team's medical staff to come in and help.

The player was immediately carried away by Barcelona's doctor, hoping that his injury is not as serious as it appears to be at first glance.

On behalf of everyone who works at LiveSoccerTV.com, we wish to see Aleix Vidal back on the pitch soon.
