Match facts

  • BVB are undefeated in their last eight DFB Pokal games.
  • Dortmund are also undefeated in their last five clashes with Hertha Berlin.
  • In fact, it has been over two years since Hertha Berlin’s last win over BVB (December 2014).
  • The last time these two sides met, they played out a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga.

Who’ll make it past the round of 16?

In probably one of the tightest DFB Pokal clashes of this round, Borussia Dortmund host Hertha Berlin. Both clubs head into this fixture on the back of a 1-0 win in the Bundesliga, but it’s Tomas Tuchel’s boys that are in better form.

Dortmund haven’t lost any of their last five games, winning one and drawing five. Their last match saw them grab a confidence-boosting win over RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga’s surprise package of this season.

Although Aubameyang and Co. are in fourth and in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League, they are only a point behind third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt and eight behind Leipzig. A point behind BVB in the standings is Hertha Berlin, in sixth.

The club from the German capital have suffered two losses in their last five games. Their last game saw them win 1-0 over Ingolstadt. Hertha Berlin will need to overcome their poor form against Dortmund in order to advance.
