Fiorentina hoping for revenge after 2014 Coppa Italia final loss

Napoli

The Partenopei come into this game full of plenty of confidence. Over the weekend, they continued to ensure they remain in the top three and keep up some pressure on second-placed Roma by defeating AC Milan in the first big game of matchday 21. Two quick-fire goals inside the first 15 minutes were enough to give the Partenopei all three points and preserve their strong record against the Rossoneri.

Furthermore, the team had to do it without a host of key players due to injury and international duty. Defenders Kalidou Koulibaly and Faouzi Ghoulam, as well as attacker Omar El Kaddouri are all away for the AFCON tournament, whilst Arkadiusz Milik is still continuing his recovery from an ACL injury. This could see the debut of new signing Leonardo Pavoletti, who recently was brought in from Genoa as Napoli seek to mix things up in attack.

Fiorentina

Meanwhile, wins over Juventus and Chievo have helped Fiorentina slowly start to work their way up the table. In addition, the Viola have a game in hand after their tie with Pescara was cancelled due to bad weather. Both defender Gonzalo Rodriguez and goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski will miss out, but Nikola Kalinic will be eligible to play after serving a ban and will definitely be re-instated in the starting XI.

Having beaten the reigning Serie A champs for the first time since 2014, and then dealing with Chievo on the road (as the Flying Donkeys are a frustrating outfit on their home turf), Fiorentina will be fancying their chances at getting some revenge against Napoli. However, they don't have the best track record against the Partenopei, and as noted before, Sarri's side are quite a difficult opponent to beat at their home ground. Will the Tuscan visitors get some revenge on Napoli after losing during the 2014 Coppa Italia final?
