The Mexican striker hasn't scored a single goal in a competitive match for the past three months, but that doesn't seem to bother the former Manchester United striker.

Even if he's living one of the worst goal scoring droughts of his career, Mexican striker Javier Hernández keeps calm about his situation at Bayer Leverkusen, where he hopes his hard work ends paying up.

In an interview with FIFA.com, El Tri's second all-time top scorer shared his views on the kind of work he's putting up to end his hodoo in front of goal.

"In the last few games, I've collaborated with the team in other spots on the pitch, and I'm taking it as part of a learning process, so that I can be a better player. I don't want to be th guy that only knows how to tap the ball in, I want to dribble, turn around, assist my team-mates and other stuff," Hernández stated.

"Chicharito" supported this thesis by referring to Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved world-wide praise despite not being as scintillating in front of goal.

"It may sound as a cliché, but all I want is to help my team. If I score and we lose, what's there to celebrate? For example, Cristiano Ronaldo won The Best award for his all-around play, but also because he helped his teams to win the Euro and the UEFA Champions League. Without those trophies, he wouldn't have won. Scoring goals is the result of teamwork," the striker added.

CR7 and "Chicharito" played together for one season.

Chicharito's highly-publicized romance with Spanish journalist comes to an end

After more than a year, it seems that Chicharito will return to the bachelor's side, as the Mexican striker seems to have put an end to his relationship with Spanish journalist Lucía Villalón. According to Marca, the couple had announced their engagement months ago, but Villalon's health and Chicharito's struggles on the pitch caused tension among them, which eventually led to their break-up.

The couple started dating when the Mexican striker played for Real Madrid.
