Match Facts & Stats

  • Roma have lost only three of their last 13 league matches on the road against Udinese (8W, 2D)
  • Udinese have lost each of their last seven Serie A clashes with Roma
  • However, the Zebrette  have failed to find the net in just one of their 12 Serie A games under Luigi Delneri
  • The Giallorossi have scored at least two goals per game in their last four meetings with Udinese

Roma looking to catch Juventus - but should not underestimate Udinese

Udinese

Unfortunately for the Zebrette, they come into this game having suffered a loss in the last round. Despite taking the lead, Udinese were unable to close out their tie with Inter, who rallied back thanks to an Ivan Perisic brace. In seasons not too long ago, Udinese were actually battling with Italy's "bigger" sides for a European football spot, but times have changed quite dramatically. No longer are they able to really fight with the so-called "big boys" and as such this season, their objective surely will be to try to secure a decent enough mid-table finish.

In terms of personnel, Luigi Delneri will only be missing a couple of players - Molla Wagué and Emmanuel Badu - due to the AFCON tournament.

Roma

Although Roma desperately want to catch Juventus in their quest to finally get their hands on the Scudetto, it appears likely that it will be a bit too much to ask of the Giallorossi. They have put up some good fights over the past few seasons, but keep on coming up short. Simply put, the Bianconeri are still on an entirely different level as opposed to the rest of Italy, and as such, the Lupi may just have to focus on securing second spot and automatic Champions League football for next season.

The visitors have been in good form this season. Roma have scored 40 goals, whilst conceding just 18. That's only bettered by Napoli, who have 42, and by Juventus, who have conceded 14. Whilst they are just four points behind the Bianconeri, and could close that to one with a win in Udine, it's important to note that Juve do have a game in hand. Mohamed Salah will miss this one due to the AFCON tournament, whilst defender Alessandro Florenzi still is continuing his recovery from an injury sustained last year.

Broadcast info - Fiorentina vs. Juventus

Who's playing: Fiorentina will be in for a very tough test as they take on league leaders and reigning Serie A champs Juventus on the biggest match of round 20.

Match Facts & Stats

  • Juventus have lost just three out of their last 35 meetings with Fiorentina across all comps
  • Fiorentina are undefeated in their last 10 home games
  • Fiorentina have won only one of their last 17 Serie A clashes against Juventus, coming at home in October 2013 via a 4-2 scoreline (6D, 10L)
  • The Viola have failed to score in four of their last six home encounters against Juve in the league...
  • ...and this is after finding the net in each of the previous 11

Here are some interesting things to note ahead of both the Fiorentina - Juve tie as well as other games on matchday 20:

Allegri expecting better from Juventus on Sunday

Despite winning their Coppa Italia tie, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri nonetheless surely would have been quite frustrated with his team's performance. The Bianconeri barely hung on to scrape by a 3-2 win over Atalanta, but are now through to the next round and will have a shot at successfully defending their title.

Allegri was clear to outline the significance of the next few games for Juve in his pre-match press conference:

Juventus will be expected to make some changes to their line-up. For starters, Gigi Buffon, who missed out on the Coppa Italia tie due to illness, is anticipated to return to his spot between the sticks. Up front, Gonzalo Higuain, who was rested for the Coppa Italia game, will probably return to partner up with fellow Argentinian international Paulo Dybala, which will likely relegate Mario Mandzukic to the bench.

As for Fiorentina, consistency continues to elude Paulo Sousa's side. The Viola have not been on form all season and have seen signs of improvement, but could really face a stern test against a Juventus side that has managed to frustrate them time and time again over the past few seasons.

Nonetheless, they did come from 2-0 down to win 4-2 less than four years ago at this same ground, and as Serie A fans have seen already this term, Juve are not unbeatable on the road. All three of La Vecchia Signora's losses have come away from Juventus Stadium: both to Inter and AC Milan at the Stadio San Siro, and then there was that shock defeat to Genoa earlier this campaign.
