Diego Costa’s future at Chelsea is under huge doubt, as a heated exchange with Antonio Conte ended in the manager yelling “Go to China” to the Spaniard. There is interest in the striker from the Far East, with new reports claiming his representatives are in China.
As a result, the Blues may need to find a talented striker quick. According to Calciomercato, the London giants have already identified their target, and it’s none other than Alvaro Morata.
The Real Madrid striker is no stranger to interest from Chelsea. He was sought after by the Premier League leaders during the summer after Euro 2016, but he instead opted for a return to Santiago Bernabeu.
Conte pulled every string possible in order to lure the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge, but failed. However, Morata may be more willing to permanently leave the 11-time Champions League winners, as his struggles to break into the starting eleven continue
No fee has been mentioned or for how long Chelsea wish to sign Morata. It’s hard to see Los Blancos doing business, however, as they are banned from signing players during the current transfer window.
