We are only half way into the season, yet this Premier League campaign has offered us a lot. Everything from a record winning streak from leaders Chelsea, to two – yes, two – scorpion kick goals in one week has been witnessed.
Diego Costa currently leads the top-scorer chart, but he isn’t the league’s most efficient striker despite his impressive 14 strikes so far. A look at the best minutes-per-goal ratio in 2016/17 sees the Spaniard land in fifth with 113.6 minutes per striker.
Not even Man City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho, the Man City starlet who set a record for scoring every 96 minutes in the league, tops the list. Instead, the Nigerian comes in third with his tally having dropped to 99.3 minutes per strike.
96 - Kelechi Iheanacho has the best minutes per goal ratio of any player in PL history (min. 10 goals), scoring every 96 minutes. Sharp.

The player who tops that list is Olivier Giroud, the man behind the latter of the two aforementioned scorpion kick goals. The Frenchman won over the Internet with his acrobatic goal, his fifth in the league this season.
Of course, the fact that the 30-year-old – the Gunners’ super-sub this season – has played only 349 minutes has gravely helped. Once a starter, Olivier now finds himself coming off the bench in most games as an impact player.
