Premier League table leaders Chelsea are keen on boosting their attack in January as they prepare for the second phase of the league next year. According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, the Blues are now willing to spend huge in the transfer market to land one of football's most-sought attackers.
The Italian outlet claims that the Blues have a 60 million-pound war chest set aside to aquire Javier Hernandez from Bayer Luverkusen. The Mexican has been in fine form since leaving Man Utd last summer after spending a season-long loan stint at Real Madrid between 2014/15 where he scored seven league goals in 23 appearances, mostly as substitute.
At Leverkusen, he has scored 22 league goals in 43 appearances. And despite having the likes of Diego Costa to his side, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on boosting his squad as they continue fighting for the league title after a horrible season in 2015/16. Reports in Germany also suggest that Leverkusen could consider the offer if Chelsea table a huge bid. But as things stand now, no contact has been made between the two sides.
