The Colombian has found playing time hard to come by at Los Blancos.

It’s no hidden secret that James Rodriguez is unhappy at Real Madrid. The Colombian sensation has found starting eleven opportunities hard to come by, and has spent the majority of this season on the bench.

The former Monaco ace has made only five starts this season in La Liga and the Champions League combined, leaving no surprise as to why he is linked with a Santiago Bernabeu exit. Zinedine Zidane has now touched on the issue, praising the 25-year-old.

Speaking ahead of their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, the Frenchman admitted that James isn’t pleased with his current situation. However, he insisted that the South American remains a talented, important member of Real Madrid.

"James is a Real Madrid player. He is important. Maybe there is a problem.

"Of course he wants to play more, as he is not playing too much to be honest. I think he is a good player and I'm sure I'm going to need my entire squad this season. He is a key player."
