They had a history of making Barcelona suffer...

El Clasico is just a few days from now. With Saturday’s clash growing closer, Marca have dropped a transfer rumor so exciting, it would make future Barcelona vs. Real Madrid ties the more exciting – if true, that is.

According to the Spanish publication, Los Blancos are contemplating resigning two stars that walked out of Santiago Bernabeu: Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria. The fact that the bitterness Real Madrid fans felt when the German and Argentine were sold still resides in them shows how influential they were in the Spanish capital.

Marca claim that Ozil, who was sold to Arsenal in transfer window deadline day back in 2013, but his Gunners deal expires in 2018, throwing his future in north London under serious doubt. Talks over a contract renewal are ongoing, but no breakthrough has been reached as of now.

Ozil remains fond of Les Merengues despite his 2013 exit, and has reportedly made contact with the 11-time Champions League winners over a move. Marca write that Jose Mourinho is willing to offer the Assist King a €15-per-year salary to lure him to Man United, but Real Madrid is where Mesut’s heart is.

Angel Di Maria is a different case, as he joined PSG last summer, meaning only a mammoth bid would tempt the Ligue 1 side into selling. Nonetheless, Marca insists that the Argentine also seeks a Real Madrid return.
