Some secured their spots in the next round, whilst others saw their European dreams effectively end. Serie A - Matchday 14 overview
As things stand, Juventus have opened a very comfortable seven point gap over the chasing pack. That means regardless of whatever happens on matchday 14, the Bianconeri will remain on top of the heap. Of course, having booked their spot in the Champions League round of 16 after a resounding 3-1 win over Sevilla, La Vecchia Signora will want to make sure they maintain at least that seven point lead by the time the dust settles this Monday.
Meanwhile, second-placed Roma will have to pick themselves up after a surprise 2-1 loss to a recently resurgent Atalanta. The Giallorossi, however, will have a very good chance to do this as they welcome Pescara. To date, the Delfini have won just one game all season. And that was an administrative result due to Sassuolo making a major gaffe by fielding a player who was not eligible to play, meaning that Pescara are still the only team yet to win a match on the pitch this term.
Both Milan and Inter are also in action after sharing the spoils in the Derby della Madonnina. The Rossoneri take on struggling Empoli on the road on Saturday in a match that they will hope their strong record will help. On Monday, the Nerazzurri lock horns with Fiorentina in the biggest game of matchday 14. Neither team have been particularly impressive in Serie A so far. The Viola will be hoping to make it a sixth game sans defeat, whilst Inter, who are under a new manager for the third time, will look to rebound after a disappointing 3-2 loss to Israeli outfit Hapoer Beer Sheva in Europa League action.
