Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney may have had a slight dip in form in recent times but the star forward is still setting records for the club. Thanks to the goal, the 31-year-old has now become the club’s all-time top scorer in Europe with 39 goals. Man Utd legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy was the reigning holder of the record with 38 goals for the club. Also, the former Everton man needs just one goal to equal Sir Bobby Charlton's record of being Man Utd's all-time goal scorer:
Sir Bobby Charlton - 249 goals
Wayne Rooney - 248 goals
39 – Wayne Rooney is now Manchester United’s outright top-scorer in Europe, netting one more than Ruud van Nistelrooy (38). Continental.

That Wayne Rooney goal was so reminiscent of his former days. Started the move and finished it off expertly. Beautiful goal.
