Cristiano Ronaldo goal-scoring form continues…..

Cristiano Ronaldo was on fire as Real Madrid whizzed past rivals Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby on Saturday. The Portugal captain scored in the 23rd, 71st and 77th minute to give Los Blancos all the important three points against Diego Simeone’s men.

And thanks to the hat-trick, he broke a couple of records. The ex-Man Utd star is now the all-time top goal scorer in the Madrid derby with 18 goals, breaking Alfredo Di Stefano's record of 17 goals. He also has 39 Real Madrid hat-tricks in all competitions - no other player has more.

The 31-year-old is also the active professional footballer with the most career hattricks. This was his 44th career hat-trick. Additionally, the ex-Sporting Lisbon man is the player with the most hat-tricks in the history of La Liga (32 hat-tricks). The result now means that Los Blancos are still top of La Liga standings with 30 points, four more than second-placed Barcelona.
