The Argentinean striker took the microphone to reveal the news to the media, following claims of an alleged disciplinary breach by Ezequiel Lavezzi

Tired of being bullied by fans and experts, the Argentinean National Team took a stand and decided to put an end to their relationship with their home country's media.

Speaking on behalf of La Albiceleste's elements, Messi acted as team captain and revealed the news to the press gathered at Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario.

"As you may be aware, because there are always leaks inside the team, we've decided to execute a media blackout because we're tired of being accused of things we've never done. The most recent publication about Lavezzi was too much to overlook, and if we stay quiet, fans will believe everything you publish, so, we're done," Messi stated.

Earlier today, members of the Argentinean press published that Ezequiel Lavezzi had been caught smoking a marijuana joint in the team's hotel. The player stepped up to deny such claims, and even hinted that he will exercise legal action against journalist Gabriel Anello for his claims.

"We know that some of you don't enter that game, but if we don't take a stand, those who publish this lies will keep doing it. These lies hurt our families and friends, and we can't allow you to keep damaging our reputation," Messi added.

Messi's statement came after being key for Argentina during their 3-0 win against Colombia, where he scored once and handed out two assists for Bauza's team.
