It marked the first defeat for the USMNT against the Mexicans in Columbus, Ohio, and that loss wasn't just even more tough as it was to a bitter rival. In addition, the visitors now will have to make do without no. 1 shot-stopper Tim Howard, who suffered a groin injury and will unfortunately have to miss the rest of the season.
Brad Guzan now will be the man between the posts, and there are concerns about his sharpness as he's not the no. 1 choice at current club Middlesbrough.
