Chile are about to make a 'suicidal' decision, according to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal manager Arsenal Wenger has hit out at the Chilean national team for plotting to play star striker Alexis Sanchez in their match against Uruguay on Tuesday. Several reports doing rounds in the press suggest that the Gunners forward has picked up a hamstring injury and is racing against time to be fit for the Tuesday World Cup Qualifier clash.

The ex-Barcelona man has been in fine form so far this season in the Premier League – he has already scored six goals and provided a hat-trick of assists. He is expected to play a crucial role in Arsenal’s grudge trip to Old Trafford to face rivals Manchester United when league action resumes on November 19th, four days after the Chile vs Uruguay tie. Speaking to beIN Sports, the French tactician said:

“I got a text last night (to say) that he has a hamstring injury. The team from Chile has travelled without him and they kept him to try and get him fit to play Uruguay for the second game on Tuesday night.

“We have to get access for our medical staff to the MRI scan to see what grade it is, how bad it is and make absolutely sure they don’t make any suicidal decision that could harm his future for two or three months.

“That is absolutely important. It’s a grey area between the national team and the club team and of course they look at their own results which I can understand but we have to preserve the health of Alexis Sanchez.

“He always wants to play and that’s where it is a more sensitive case because he’s always ready to play even when injured.”
