Mkhitaryan tackles transfer rumors

Manchester UTD midfielder comes clean about immediate future

October 27, 2016 By Oscar Rojas
Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan hasn't featured in a game for the Red Devils since September 10, prompting rumors about a transfer.

With rumors about a possible transfer already making their way to the headlines, Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan decided to step up and clarify his current situation at Manchester United.

The former Borussia Dortmund playmaker, who hasn't played a single game for almost two months, has dismissed the idea of leaving the club this winter, and even admitted there's no reason for him to ask for more playing time.

"It doesn’t matter if they buy me for, I don’t know, £38m or £40m, I am not guaranteed to play the games," the player told The Guardian.

Earlier this week, José Mourinho stated that the midfielder needed to earn his match fitness back before being considered as a starter. The player seemed to agree with his coach, while ruling out any discomfort for his current situation.

"I am trying to do my best during the training to earn this place to play and then we will see, because I don’t think I will play every game, depending on the tactical situation, depending on the opponent. But I will do everything to try and help the team," Mkhitaryan concluded.

After Wednesday's 1-0 win against Manchester City, the Red Devils prepare themselves for their match against Burnley at Old Trafford. It is yet to be seen if Mourinho will include the Armenian in the squad, but given their current midfield woes, Mkhitaryan could provide some solutions for The Special One.
