Lyon receive a huge boost in attack...but Juventus suffer a major blow in defense

Lyon

Bruno Génésio's side come into this game having lost 2-0 to current league leaders Nice in their most recent match. Les Gones, in fact, have lost three out of their last four games across all competitions and 50 per cent of their 12 competitive games played so far this season. Still, at home, Lyon have been pretty solid, with wins in 12 out of their last 15 matches played at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Their sole loss to date was a 3-1 reversal to Bordeaux back on September 10th.

The hosts will definitely be boosted, though, by the long-awaited return of Alexandre Lacazette. The French international netted 23 goals in all comps for Les Gones last term and was leading this season's Ligue 1 scoring charts with six goals in three matches before being struck down by injury. However, both Clément Grenier and Christophe Jallet are still recovering and so will not be available for this match.

Juventus

Meanwhile, Juventus were far from their best, but nonetheless earned a 2-1 win over Udinese thanks to a brace from Paulo Dybala, which was enough to keep the Bianconeri on top of the Serie A table. Massimiliano Allegri's side have won their past five matches across all competitions, whilst keeping clean sheets in four of those games. Their 4-0 crushing of Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb on matchday two matched their best ever away win, and they will be hoping to take advantage of a Lyon side struggling for form and confidence.

However, the visitors arrive in France with some injury problems. The absence of Giorgio Chiellini in defense will certainly be a major blow, whilst other absentees will include Kwadwo Asamoah, Claudio Marchisio, Daniele Rugani, Mario Mandzukic, and Marko Pjaca. As such, due to the gap in offense, Allegri has added Moise Kean as an option, and the 16-year-old Ivorian, who plays his national football for Italy, could become the first player born in 2000 to play in the Champions League if he gets some game-time against Lyon on Tuesday evening.
