Apparently, there will be no tolerance for players who think their above the team in the Azzurri squad, as striker Graziano Pelle has been kicked out of the National Team after getting involved in an argument with his coach,Gian Piero Ventura.
The Shandong Luneng striker left the pitch furiously after being subbed off, even snubbing Ventura when he tried to shake his hand on the touchline. Reports in Italy suggest that Pellé referred to the manager as a "piece of sh*t" while on the bench, and continued his rant in the dressing room.
Ventura reported the incident to his superiors, and the Italian Football Association decided to kick Pellé out of the squad.
"Coach Gian Piero Ventura and the Italian Football Association have agreed to exclude Graziano Pellé from the squad that will play against Macedonia on October 9, after his disrespectful behavior following his substitution against Spain. Being an Italian international involves a sense of respect to the staff, team-mates and fans, as well as showing team values on the pitch," the press release states.
The former Southampton striker has played 20 games for the Azzurri's senior squad since 2014, scoring nine goals. Last night's match against Spain was his third under Ventura, and even though he apologized for his behaviour, his future with the Nazionale doesn't seem to be promising.
