The late Dutch boss chose players from different eras, but he left both of today's brightest stars out of what could be called a 'dream team'.

Johan Cruyff wasn't that impressed with what Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have done in recent years, as the legendary Johan Cruyff didn't consider them good enough to feature in his best all-time Starting XI.

Despite being known as one of the Founding Fathers of Barcelona's philosophy, Cruyff snubbed Messi from the stellar lineup, which was revealed in the late coach's autobiography earlier today.

Names such as Pep Guardiola, Diego Armando Maradona, Pelé and Alfredo DiStefano were included, but football's most recognizable players from this age were left out.

The fact that Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't included in this lineup should come as no surprise, as the Dutch tactician wasn't very fond of the Portuguese ace's approach on football. In fact, he criticized the 3-time Ballon D'Or winner for "not being a team player".

Here's what Johan Cruyff's ideal starting lineup would look like.
