Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has been criticized by Peter Shilton.

Just how good is Joe Hart? This is the question many football fans and pundits have been pondering over in the recent few months. Hart, who currently plays for Serie A outfit Torino on loan from Man City, fell out of favor at the English club under new boss Pep Guardiola.

But now, England’s most capped player, Peter Shilton believes that the 29-year-old is simply overrated. The 67-year-old made a record of 125 appearances for the Three Lions from 1970 to 1990. During that 20-year-old, he steered his country to fourth place finish in the 1990 FIFA World Cup and won the Rous Cup three times.

He now believes that Hart should not be guaranteed a first place between the sticks with the Three Lions. This comes at a time when reports have been circulating in England that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been monitoring the out-of-favor shot stopper, who had a disappointing outing with England at the European Championship in France over the summer.

Interestingly, Hart has been named in Gareth Southgate's squad for the upcoming fixtures against Malta and Slovenia.
