Match facts and other historical stats - Inter vs. Juventus

  • Inter have not beaten Juventus in Serie A since November 3, 2012
  • The Nerazzurri have not won against the Bianconeri at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza since April 16, 2010
  • Juventus have won all but two of their last 31 Serie A games
  • Inter have been unable to keep a clean sheet in Serie A since beating Napoli 2-0 on April 16th earlier this year

Team news

Inter

Frank de Boer may have just taken over Inter after Roberto Mancini's departure, but the Dutch tactician's job is reportedly already on the line. The Nerazzurri are coming into this game having suffered a shock 2-0 home loss to Israeli outfit Haopel Be'er Sheva in Europa League action. And they have only won one Serie A fixture - a 2-1 result over newly promoted Palermo - that sees them sitting in the bottom half of the table after the first three rounds.

Fabio Capello has been mooted as an option to replace de Boer should Inter lose to Juventus this weekend. And given the fact that it's been six years since they last won at home and four since their last victory against La Vecchia Signora, the new coach could already be getting ready to say arrivederci to Italy's fashion capital. Having left talismanic attacker Mauro Icardi on the bench for most of their Europa League match, de Boer will definitely field him from the start. Meanwhile, although key winger Ivan Perisic is dealing with some muscular problems, the Croatian will be definetly throw into action as de Boer will need to field his strongest starting XI for this crunch clash.

Juventus

Juventus didn't lose their European tie, but Massimiliano Allegri's side will nonetheless be very disappointed with their result against Sevilla. La Vecchia Signora were unable to break down Los Rojiblancos and had to settle for a scoreless draw, and they were left ruing their numerous missed opportunities throughout the match. Still, at least domestically, they have started off strong and are currently the only team with a perfect three wins out of three.

Sitting two points ahead of Napoli, who could temporarily overtake them with a win against Bologna on Saturday, the Bianconeri are by far the heavy favorites to make it a fourth consecutive victory in Sunday's Derby d'Italia clash. Allegri could opt to rotate his squad somewhat, with Alex Sandro and Stephan Lichtsteiner coming in for Dani Alves and Patrice Evra, and Gonzalo Higuain may or may not play the full game after featuring for the full 90 versus Sevilla. With the exception of the still injured Claudio Marchisio, Juve will have everyone else of note available for what should be a relatively straightforward win for the Turin giants.

Broadcast info - Fiorentina vs. Roma

Who's playing: After disappointing results in their opening Europa League matches, both Fiorentina and Roma will be hoping to get back on track as they lock horns in an intriguing clash this Sunday.

What time: Sunday, September 18th at 11:45 PST/14:45 EST/18:45 UTC/19:45 BST/20:45 CET

What stadium: The Stadio Artemio Franchi will be hosting this game. Fiorentina's home ground, which is located in Florence, Italy, has a max capacity of43,147.

Match facts and other historical stats - Fiorentina vs. Roma

  • Roma have won seven out of their last eight Serie A matches against Fiorentina
  • The Viola have not beaten the Giallorossi in the league since April 2012
  • Fiorentina have only lost one out of their last ten Serie A home games
  • Roma have scored at least two goals in their last nine road Serie A games

Team news

Fiorentina

The Viola will be coming into this game with  pretty much a full-strength squad availalbe, but Paulo Sousa will not be happy with Fiorentina's showing in their most recent match as they had to settle for a scoreless draw with Greek outfit PAOK. This came off the heels of seeing their match with Genoa ended early due to a hailstorm, meaning that the Gigliati have not won a game since edging out Chievo 1-0.

Given their frustrating record against Roma - with just one win out of their last seven home clashes - Fiorentina will be desperate to end their Giallorossi hoodoo this Sunday. However, the Lupi are unbeaten in their last 20 games and will definitely present the hosts with a stern test in what should be an interesting clash from start to finish.

Roma

Like Fiorentina, Roma traveled for their European tie and came back home with a point. Despite taking an early lead against their Czech opponents, the Giallorossi were unfortunate to concede shortly after Diego Perotti put them ahead and now will be turning their attention to picking up what would be a second straight league win.

Luciano Spalletti will likely again call on veteran Francesco Totti, but given that he is nearly 40, the evergreen captain will more likely than not start from the bench as an impact sub. The talismanic attacker proved to be the difference maker for Roma during their 3-2 win over Samp by netting a late spot-kick, and it will be very intriguing to see what impact he may have on Sunday's fixture. The only absentees for Roma look set to be Antonio Rudiger and Mario Rui, with both still continuing their long journey back from bad knee injuries.
