Los Blancos' 2-1 Champions League win on Wednesday ended in tragedy for one supporter

Alvaro Morata’s winning goal in Real Madrid’s opening Champions League tie was a joyous occasion for the club’s fans, all but one though.

According to Costa Comunicaciones, one supporter of the reigning champions sadly passed away after celebrating the Spanish striker’s decisive strike vs. Sporting Lisbon.

Les Merengues welcomed the Portuguese outfit to the Bernabeu on Wednesday, with many expecting Zinedine Zidane’s boys to dispatch Jorge Jesus’ crew. Instead, it was the home side that conceded first.

Real Madrid required a magical free-kick goal from Cristiano Ronaldo to draw level, but Morata handed the hosts all three points to clinch a nail-biting 2-1 victory.

Unfortunately for one unnamed supporter, he suffered a heart attack after celebrating the strike whilst watching the game at a bar called “El bon gust”.

A witness claims that “the man got up to celebrate the goal and then he suddenly collapsed”. Paramedics arrived on the scene once it was too late.

Next up for Cristiano and Co. is a trip to Espanyol on Sunday, a game which could see them match this record held by Barcelona.
