Team news – Luis Enrique set to welcome back key players.

Barcelona head into the opening game of the new Champions League season on a bad note, having lost 2-1 at home to newly-promoted side Deportivo Alaves in La Liga.

The defeat on Saturday was unexpected, but forgivable due to the number of key players who were rested over the weekend in favor of Tuesday’s clash.

Lionel Messi, who struggled with a hamstring injury during the international break, came off the bench for the second half alongside Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta. All three players are eligible to return to the starting eleven.

Jasper Cillessen started in goal due to an injury to Marc Andre Ter Stegen, but the German has recovered and is in line to reclaim his spot in between the sticks.

Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets, both of whom were rested in the 2-1 defeat, are also expected to begin Tuesday’s clash with Celtic

Unfortunately for Brendan Rodgers, he will be without key goalscorer Leigh Griffiths, the top scorer from the Champions League qualifying round.

Celtic, who thrashed Rangers 5-1 over the weekend, were able to call-up Scott Brown despite his knock on Saturday.
