Manchester United have named their official 25-man squad list for the 2016/17 Premier League season.

The Red Devils started the new league campaign on a high after registering three wins out of three. Under new boss Jose Mourinho, the Old Trafford-based side has regained its confidence, which will be put to test on September 10 when they face their bitter rivals Manchester City.

Ahead of this crucial tie, the Red Devils have revealed their official 25-man squad, and, surprisingly, former Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger has been included.

The 32-year-old has not played any game for the Manchester-based club under new boss Mourinho. The ex-Chelsea tactician recently revealed that it would be ‘very difficult’ for the former Bayern Munich star to get a starting berth in his squad this season, but it seems he still has a role to play. Despite being demoted from the senior team to the youth side, Bastian has been quoted several times insisting that he hopes to play for the English giants once again this season. Check out one of his most recent tweets below regarding his situation at the club.

The World Cup winner with Die Mannschaft was signed by Man Utd last summer from Bayern Munich, but had an injury-stricken season at his new club. He played 18 league games and scored one goal for the 20-time Premier League champions last season.

But thanks to the latest development in Manchester, the legendary player could as well get a chance to don the red shirt once again this season. Here is the full 25-man squad:

Full squad: Bailly, Blind, Carrick, Darmian, De Gea, Depay, El-Fitouri, Fellaini, Herrera,Ibrahimovic, Johnstone, Jones, Lingard, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Rojo, Romero, Rooney,Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Smalling, Valencia, Young

First-team U21s: Fosu-Mensah, Martial, Rashford, Shaw
